backup staat klaar

Amsterdam's Zwart Licht dropped an ultra violent video for their hyper track, Backup staat klaar. Like so many before they choose the easy route of controversy to promote their music. MC Akwasi says it's a tribute to one of their favorite movies; Menace to society. All this violence put aside...dit komt hard!

Cntrl gets Derestricted

We drove up to Salzburg to stay with friends and it seemed that we totally picked the right weekend. After a long but swift night journey on das Autobahn we arrived at Zauchensee. It had just snowed there, no people and we were the first ones up. Fun in the forest all day.Went back there with Piers the day after and since he's there almost weekly he showed us around like he did in his appartment.

Nighttimes were filled with visiting a local braü, a bierfest like brewery were you rent a big stone pitcher (more like a bucket) and euh...drink. Like we were sitting in an old Bruegel painting. After saturday's ride we swung by Red Bull's Hangar 7, an architectural highlight. Many RB racing machines, planes, helis and motos are exposed there. A cocktail bar and a Michelin star rated restaurant. www.hangar-7.com

Got up early on sunday after a few beers in the Belgian bar in the old town, and the obligatory schnitzel too. Checked the webcams, maps and decided to head for Sportgastein. It's so beautiful. One loooong gondola, and a piste or 5 come down the beautiful mountain. There's freeriding all around this mountain. Long clear curves and fun jumps between the trees in the lower area.

One of those weekenders I will remember for a long time. I think I will never ride in France again, too. The area is supposed to be beautiful in summer to. I'll definately be back, this time with the family.

Big up to derestricted.com for having us and expect a nice collabo in the near future. Also much love sent out to my girl Ilse and to the Mighty Puff, überbeing of snow, who definately answered our prayers and offerings and was more than giving.

blockhead: the music scene

I am a fan of Antony Simon a.k.a. Blockhead. Mostly know for his productions for DefJux/Aesop Rock, he also stands strong with his solo efforts on the prestigious indie label, Ninja Tune. His debut, Music by Cavelight was and is a regular on my playlist. So how did The Music Scene slip by me? It's basically the same setup...layered warmth, atmospheric hip-hop. DJ Krush comes to mind, and so many others. Top release for you people in the know. It got rave reviews and the album is said to be his best instrumental effort to date.
